(Key points on a talk to be given by Adelmo Borsani of Ancaplast at All China Leather Exhibition 3 - 5 September 2008 at a symposium with the above title.)

|
Mr Borsani will deliver a general view of the latest developments in the top quality synthetic leather field, that is getting closer and closer to the technical and aesthetic characteristics of genuine leather and, above all, is more respectful of the environment.
The success of this product is tightly connected to the overused keywords "eco-friendly" and "green process", and to the severe regulations, effective in the near future, for exporting into Europe and the US.
The talk will focus on the hottest novelties developed by Ancaplast to combine the features of the best products in this field such as, non-woven microfibre, polyurethane dispersions, release papers, and embossing rolls. | The result, Mr Borsani will claim, is the only product that is really 100% eco-green, obtained with totally ecological technologies and products and almost without Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC). The new non-woven microfibre can be coated with the lastest polyurethane dispersions, completely free from organic solvents, and with a high (60%) solid content. The new PUD can be mechanically foamed. It offeres a high density and a very fine cellular structure, assuring a high abrasion and scuff resistance.
Mr Borsani discusses the parameters for the choice of the release paper suitable for water dispersion, and suggests possibilities for the best customisation of the product, using post-embossing with hot rolls, in line with market trends and the 'Made in Italy' style.
Mr Borsani acknoledges the co-operation of Bayer, Favini, Kuraray, Dornbusch in permitting Ancaplast to disclose this valuable information.
