Winners of Best of APLF Awards were announced at the cocktail party organized by APLF Ltd on the first night of the 3-day event which kicked off on Monday. A total of thirteen Best of APLF Awards were presented to exhibitors from Fashion Access and APLF - Materials, Manufacturing & Technology fairs. It gives us great pleasure to publish the results and congratulate the winners.
APLF honored the eight winning Fashion Access exhibitors with their trophies during a festive evening animated by jazz music.
The “Best Bag Award” goes to C&R International (Licensing) Ltd from Hong Kong for their Sustainable Deerskin convertible bags that are wonderfully soft and tactile, casual yet elegant.
The “Best Ladies Footwear Award” goes to Stephanie Classic from Brazil for its collection’s global theme of modern retro that is in line with current trends; for its workmanship, special production techniques and high quality materials.
The “Best Small Leather Goods Award” goes to Elaine Khoo from Indonesia for its original use of prints, forms and materials in its line of small purses.
The “Best Travelware Award” goes to Serenade Leather from Australia for its combination of fantasy and practicality in developing an attractive line of must-have leather travel accessories.
The “Best Lifestyle Product Collection Awards” goes to Granda Industries Ltd from Hong Kong for its well-made collection of great designs of wine cases, portfolios, I-pod cases and other accessories fit for the classy urban lifestyle.
The “Best Quality Bag Collection Awards” goes to At Bangkok Co Ltd (Fly Now) from Thailand for its full leather bag collection whose workmanship and materials are consistently of the highest quality, paired with very current styles whilst using wonderful Thai craftsmanship.
The “Best in Innovation Awards” goes to Mekkem Industry Inc from Taiwan for creating a fashion statement in PU with its line of sporty bags that feature pure ergonomic designs.
The last award in Fashion Access, the “Best Fashion Garment Award” goes to Abirato from France, for its elegant yet modern leather jacket that boasts precise finishing, simple lines, and fashionable colours.
Five winning APLF - MM&T exhibitors were honored with these awards:
The “Best Fashion Leather Award” went to Marmara Deri from Turkey for its double-faced leather collection done in fashionable colours and featuring a variety of textures and finishes.
The “Best Innovation in Leather Award” goes to Tannerie R. Carriat from France for its ingenious method that replaces traditional gluing.
The “Best Man-Made Material Innovation Award” was presented to Sappi Warren from USA for its innovations in release papers technology that has broadened the range of prints, textures, finishes and functions that can be transferred onto any imaginable surface, including leather.
The “Best Component Award” was won by Plaginsa-Plaches de Goma Interstitial SA from Spain for its top quality shoe soles which feature a special finishing process that gives the bottom of their shoe soles a distinct, clean look.
The “Best Ecological Product Award” went to TATA International from India for their leathers developed particularly for shoe production, stemming from a partnership between the tannery and the shoe manufacturer whcih reduces to a minimum the chemical processes involved in shoe making.
The Best of APLF Awards is an initiative to cultivate and nurture talent and creativity in fashion-related industries. The project recognizes design excellence, originality, innovation, use of materials and accessories and outstanding workmanship of products exhibited at both APLF organized events – APLF - MM&T and Fashion Access.
